The National Association of Social Workers-New York State Chapter is pleased to have the opportunity to celebrate the contributions of social work students across the state to the Social Work profession.  The Student Spotlight is a wonderful way for students to receive acknowledgement for their accomplishments and for fellow social work students to gain inspiration from each other’s experiences and dedication.

Nominated students must be NASW members and enrolled in a bachelor, master or doctorate level CSWE certified social work program.

To be considered for Student Spotlight Winner for a certain month, nominations must be received by the 10th day of the previous month.  Nominations will be reviewed by the 20th day of the previous month and the Student Spotlight Winner will be notified by the 1st day of their award month.

For example, the nominations for the December Student Spotlight must be received by November 10th.  Nominations will be reviewed by November 20th and winner will be notified by December 1st.

All nominations will be accepted on a continuous basis and will be submitted to a Student Spotlight Selection Committee.

Each monthly Student Spotlight winner from October to January will receive an NASW-NYS Student Spotlight Prize Package, including a free ticket to the NASW-NYS Annual Power of Social Work Conference.  Each monthly Student Spotlight winner from February to September will receive an NASW-NYS Student Spotlight Prize Package, including a free ticket to any NASW-NYS Training Institute.

Each nominator for the Student Spotlight will be entered into a biannual raffle. All nominators from the months of October to January will be entered in a raffle for a free ticket to the NASW-NYS Annual Power of Social Work Conference.  The drawing will take place during the last two weeks of January.  All nominators from the months of February to September will be entered in a raffle for a free ticket to any NASW-NYS Training Institute.  The drawing will take place during the last two weeks of September.
