Agency Input Needed Regarding Social Work Licensure Revisions 

As NASW-NYS continues to work with the NYS Education Department (SED), Legislature and other relevant organizations, to address the implementation issues related to the social work licensure law, we have been called upon by SED to gather information related to the practice of social work in certain types of businesses.

Their question is: Are there any "for profit" providers of services that are now restricted under NYS Education Law Articles 153 (psychology), social work (154), and mental health practitioners (163), as these were previously not restricted services?

Please let us know if there are for-profit entities--other than those authorized under OMH, OMR, OASAS, OCFS, or DOH--that may be affected by this bill. Entities under those agencies, as well as colleges and universities, would be deemed acceptable if the requirements of the oversight agency have been met.
