An act to amend the criminal procedure law, in relation to evidence obtained as a result of seeking or receiving health care for a drug overdose.

Overview
The bill seeks to amends CPL to exempt evidence obtained by law enforcement relating to possession of a controlled substance, paraphernalia, and alcohol for individuals who are overdosing and seeking emergency treatment as well as witnesses who are seeking emergency treatment for someone else who is overdosing.
The proposed legislation aims to reduce barriers to emergency healthcare access for persons seeking medical attention for substance abuse overdose.
