NASW-New York State Ethics and Professional Review

Practicing Ethically is the guiding principle for social workers regardless of work setting or type of practice. The NASW Code of Ethics holds the guiding principles and standards for the profession. It serves as the guide for the everyday professional conduct of social workers.

Using the NASW Code of Ethics and in conjunction with the National office, the NYS Chapter provides Ethics education, consultations and professional review to our members. The NYS Education Department’s Office of Professional Discipline handles complaints related to a service or treatment by a licensed professional or about an illegal practice.

To get the most current information and upcoming trainings on putting Ethics into practice, check out the Professional Development section of this website, the update Chapter newsletter and National’s Office of Ethics and Professional Review
