RSVP Deadline: July 10th

This training provides a Family Based Approach to treatment which views the fundamental impact of incest as the traumatization of the child's relationships with others inside and outside the family.  From the perspective of victimized children, relational trauma is seen in the sense of betrayal, loss of trust, ruptures in attachment and confusion around how to feel about self in relation to other family members. Ms. True will show how to use an integration of feminist, systemic and social constructionist theory.  She will show how the relational approach to treatment focuses on strengthening the child's protective relationships and engaging family members to assist the child to overcome specific symptoms.
